It’s Friday! And I blogged 4x this week! Wow, what an accomplishment! As you can see, it takes very little to excite me. Ha!
Honestly, I’m seeking balance. I want both Worlds – time with clients and time in here writing / being creative. It’s not always going to turn out the way I wish, but this week happened to come together nicely. I worked for one very sweet mom over 2 days, which left the rest of my week free to work from home on the blog and catch up on other things / projects. I’ll take it!
Today, I’m here sharing another client before & after. We’re playing catch up, as many of these projects were completed last year. Hope you don’t mind all this fun, real-life inspiration!
This lovely family of 4 recently had their kitchen redone. And it turned out perfect! Left me with some serious kitchen envy. But if I can’t have a new kitchen myself, the next best thing is helping someone organize theirs! The kitchen was designed by the talented Kelly of Kelly Scanlon Interior Design. She’s a local Bay Area designer I’ve connected with and her work is simply stunning!…
Isn’t her work amazing?! It’s so comfortable and easy. I visited her site to see if she had professional shots of the kitchen, but those aren’t available yet. As soon as she has them, I’ll be sure to share here on the blog. I also hope she has a few before shots, because you wouldn’t believe the difference! This is the closest I have to an after image for you…from my Instagram feed…
So stunning!
Once the kitchen was near completion, the family hired me to organize / put everything away. Matter of fact, the kitchen is so new you’ll notice the drawer / cabinet pulls weren’t installed yet. Painter’s tape to the rescue! Here’s a long array of before and after’s for your enjoyment! You can find the links to the products used under some of the images. You’ll notice the cabinets appear rather empty, then suddenly full. The family had set up a temporary kitchen in the playroom. As I organized / put away, I was grabbing stuff from the playroom.
Drawer organizers are helpful!…

This small drawer to the right of their sink made a good spot for trash bags and wet sponges…
I tweaked it slightly by adding a clear tray for the wet items…

Not everything needs containment. Sometimes nesting works just as well…
Mom loves to bake with the girls, so a baking center was a must have!…
The after – *sigh*…

All that was needed here was a small riser and a clear tray to keep oils / sprays from damaging her new shelving…

When it comes to organizing a kitchen, keep containment simple. The idea is to be able to find what you need quickly. Set up zones like a baking center, a tupperware drawer, a lunch box / lunch makings drawer, etc. And most importantly, put items away in an area that makes sense to you and the way you live / flow in your kitchen.
Hope I’ve inspired you to tackle some kitchen organizing this weekend!
I’m in the middle of redoing my kitchen… you have lots of good ideas 🙂
I really love the woven baskets.
Hi!
Thank you!! I’ve done many kitchens…and wish one day I can do my own! Mine current kitchen is literally a walkway. ugh!
