Easy Dorm Room Wall Organization

Jul 25

Hard to believe I’m about the type this but it’s officially the last week of July. By now, summer has settled in pretty hard and your kids are enjoying those unscheduled, carefree days. But it’s time to start talking about back to school! Yes, I said it. It seems as if every year I’m the blogger delivering this sad reality to your feed reader or inbox. I do it with love, my friends!

Some schools here in the Bay Area return as early next Monday. Shocking, but true. My kids head back closer to mid-August. But if you have a child heading off to college, you’re likely doing a lot of crying in throws of planning out their dorm or apartment space. A couple of my summer interns are heading off to college so I’ve been hearing plenty about the topic of dorms and apartments. And also hearing about how little space they’ll have. Mind you, shared space! It’s a tough reality for teenagers to go from a room of their own to a shared dorm room or apartment with as many as 5 others living with you. Fun, yes! But also a challenge to carve out your own space and keep it organized.

When faced with the challenge of small space organizing, it’s imperative to use vertical space. Walls are a great spot to hang organization solutions, especially over a desk!

Using a few Command Products, you can clear off your desktop, giving you precious space for other items to sit.

Adding Command Clear Caddies and Clear Mini Hooks gives you a spot to safely drop small items without losing them in the shuffle of desk papers.

Hanging your caddies and hooks is easy! Just begin with a clean wall and add Command Products where they are easily accessible – whether sitting or standing…

My favorite feature about the clear line of products is that they come with transparent adhesive strips. This allows the products to blend seamlessly into walls and other surfaces.

The clear mini hooks come in handy for so many home uses, but they work really well in a dorm room or apartment…

After allowing the adhesive to cure (about an hour) it’s time to put them to work!

The caddies and mini hooks are a great landing spot for wallets, charging cords, keys, school ID’s, coins, pens, pencils and more!

Think about how well these products would work in an entry, bathroom or kitchen too. You can make use of every small space in that dorm room keeping your college student organized!

You can rest assured you’ll get your deposit back too since Command Brand Products are damage-free. #DoNoHarm They are also easy to use over and over again with refill strips. So when they decide to move to a new apartment next year, you’re ready to get them organized again by purchasing refill packs. Easy!

I’ve put together a little care package for my summer interns and, of course, Command Products are included in their gift. Heading off to college is exciting! It’s their first step outside the nest and a great time to teach them organization skills to last a lifetime.

More back to school organization ideas are on the way, friends! But I’d love to hear from you so be sure to share your small space dorm room tips in the comments below!

Happy back-to-school organizing!

I am proud to be a Command Brand sponsored blogger, and as part of my responsibilities, I get the opportunity to evaluate Command Brand products. Opinions are my own and additional products used in the project were selected by me.
