As I get back into the swing of our school routine, I’ve hit a few organization obstacles. Mainly in the school schedule department. Lucky me, this school year I have 3 different drop-off times and 3 different pick-up times to coordinate…More importantly, to remember!
Not to mention everything else I’m juggling – The blog, daily errands/chores, home projects, and more.
My new home calendar is my go-to spot to keep track of it all. I set it up just a few weeks ago, but it was already beginning to look like a jumbled mess…
Even with the few supplies I had stowed away inside, it was still painful on my eyes to open that calendar each day…
When BIC® reached out to me to sample a few of their BIC Atlantis® pens, I jumped at the opportunity because I knew these colors would be great for an easy color-coded back-to-school schedule….
To create a simple, color-coded school / home schedule, I chose a pen color for each person. Then I created a key on a post-it note and stuck it inside my home management binder…Where I keep our daily schedule…
Then I added school times and other chores to the calendar for each person using their designated color…
I added a few personal appointments as well. Like that court date regarding my summer speeding ticket…ah-hem….
When the schedule was updated in color, I popped my pens into the zippered pouch…
Now they are always right there when I need them.
Another great use for these pens? Writing on school snack bags in the morning…
the boy’s new school has a “snack recess”. They need to bring snack in a bag separate from their lunch. we learned our lesson quickly within the first few days of school – If you pack snack in the lunchbag, they will eat their entire lunch at 10am. Only to be starving for the next 5 hours. We’re now packing a separate snack bag and I’m using the BIC Atlantis® pens to remind them to eat only this snack during snacktime. I can write them a little note too!
I’m currently setting up a mini-homework station in the kitchen (sharing soon!), so these pens fit perfectly on the counter where we can easily access them….

I love new pens, crayons, markers, anything school supply related. I want to buy more for me than for my daughter.
I use boring black now, but in college I used pink & purple for taking notes in class.

I love mixing up colors depending on my mood. When I was a teacher I would switch up my grading colors (not just red) all the time. 🙂
I love a blue or teal
Depends on what/why I'm writing but I usually use black/blue. Since I'm a student, I turn a lot of work in to professors and some of them don't like bright ink so I just play it safe. 🙂
Purple! (And black/blue sometimes). Love that there's a purple pen in the coloured pack.
I always use bright fun colors in my planner too! But my go to color for most things is black.
Use colored pens to coordinate chore schedule, kids weekly activity schedule, and kids weekly test schedule.

I love writing with all colors. I just love great, smooth writing pens. I, too, use a color-coded calendar bc of the same reasons (3 boys in 3 diff schools with diff drop-off/pick-up times). I love colored pens. I use them a lot at work. My favorite is turquoise blue. Also pink and purple. They just brighten up whatever you are writing.

I love rainbow pens on a calendar! Currently my 2013 calendar is boring blue. But I have a brand new 2014 calendar just sitting here waiting to be rainbow-ized. 🙂

I love using lots of different colors!
I love using different colors! I use the same color coding system for our family and get a lot of use out of Blue for my husband, Green for my son, Orange for son's competitive soccer stuff, Purple for my daughter, Pink for me, Black for family and Red for work. It makes looking at the calendar so easy for me and fun to put together too!
