This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand®. All opinions are 100% mine.
I love getting creative with new products – especially when it comes to organization. Duck Brand® has a new product, Deco Laminate, that is perfect for personalizing every day items, crafting, scrapbooking or covering/decorating smaller resurfacing projects. Deco Laminate is even compatible with a Cricut machine, if you’re lucky enough to own one.
But you know this lady. When the package arrived from Duck Brand®, organization ideas came to mind.
Duck Brand® Deco Laminate is available in 20″ x 10″ rolls and a variety of colors and prints; zebra, giraffe, multi-color polka dots, blue chevron, or wallflower. Not to mention dry erase, chalkboard and holographic designs as well…
After checking out the laminate, I knew exactly where to get creative. I’d been having an issue in my daughter’s room. The inside of her dresser drawers are scratchy…
Each time I pulled out a cotton shirt or pair of tights, the little bits of wood poking up would snag her clothing. drawer liner was on my to-do list, so this Deco Laminate was perfect for the job. But let’s talk about organizing her drawers too!
She’s 3.5 and getting more independent each day. She finally learned to use the potty a few weeks ago and now insists on dressing herself. I’m all for encouraging independence (sniff sniff), but when she picks out her clothing she tends to mess up the drawers. Since I was lining the drawers, this was the perfect time to re-organize.
Here’s where I started…
To brighten her drawers and keep the clothing snag-free, I chose the multi-color polka dots Deco Laminate…
The laminate is easy to adhere. All I did was measure out the sheets using the easy to use measurement guide on the back of the paper…
Then trim to fit using a cutting tool…
Once the Deco Laminate was cut to size, I peeled away a small portion of the backing paper and adhered it to the drawer…
Then I slowly continued peeling and adhering, making sure to smooth out any bubbles as I went. It was best to push from the middle out while doing this part…
Even if i made a mistake, the laminate came up easily and I simply started all over again. It’s very easy to use. Bright and cheerful too!….
With the drawers lined, it was time to put the clothing back inside. For this part I used a few drawer dividers found at the container store…
These are spring loaded – just squeeze, put in place, and add clothes….
Love! Organized and colorful…And snag-free clothing thanks to Duck Brand® Deco Laminate…
While organizing her clothing, I spent some time sorting out what looked worn or doesn’t fit anymore. Time for some girly clothes shopping!
With my daughter’s dresser taken care of, I created a very simple yet functional message center in the kitchen using the Duck Brand® Deco Laminate dry erase paper. I was in need of a small space for keeping the school hot lunch menu, weekly homework reading logs and a place for writing phone messages. There is so little counter space in the kitchen that anytime I can use vertical space in here, I’m all over it. Using the dry erase laminate, I turned this long interior cabinet door…
Into this message center…
I just measured the interior cabinet door and cut the laminate to size. Then adhered the laminate slowly making sure to smooth out any bubbles. I opted to line the entire door so the kids could color if they like…With mommy supervision, of course!…
I added a small adhesive hook to the door too and hung a lightweight pail (from the target $1 spot) for holding dry erase markers and an eraser…
Now I have a quick spot to write phone messages, notes or even a short list for the market…
If i make a mistake, it’s easy to erase…
And make the correction…
haha!
To contain those school papers, I added a few wall pockets to the cabinet door above…
Loving this simple message center! What I really love about this product is that you can make it a temporary or permanent solution to any organization struggle…
