If you were wondering where I was last week and why you didn’t see a blog post…guess where I was? You would have found me sitting in a lawn chair staring at this view…
Or you could have found me laying on it, kissing it, rolling around on it and talking to it.

But seriously, you guys….you know how long I have waited for this moment. I’ve lived in dirt for nearly the past year and finally – finally – when I look into my front yard I see this!…

Ahhhhhh, heaven! I am in sod heaven over here.
After tons of work in front – new driveway, addition of sprinklers (on the entire property – and still not done yet), new fencing, and defined pathways – this wide open space was finally prepped for new sod…
This was definitely one of my favorite home deliveries in a long time! It ranks right up there with my recent La Crema Pinot delivery…
Look at these beautiful sod rolls! Have you ever seen anything more stunning?…
Ok, maybe that’s a stretch. But if you’ve been here along with me since the home purchase last summer, you know this is a HUGE improvement!
Anyway, with the help from my favorite gardener, the sod was unrolled, placed and trimmed…

Finally, when it was all in place, it was time to turn on those sprinklers to help it settle. Just look at this view now!…
While getting this large dirt area covered is a HUGE step, I’m still not quite done. Next up will be a new pathway (stones were ordered yesterday) and some pretty plants, hedges and flowers (I decided on hydrangea bushes, star jasmine, small hedges, flowers and morning glories)…
It’s going to look incredible when it’s done and there’s some pretty color at the front door.
But in the meantime, let’s please enjoy a few before and after’s to really appreciate how far along this area has come…in less than one year!

This front yard has definitely been defined!…
So much has changed in a short amount of time. And even more improvements will be made in the coming weeks!

I've loved watching the yard progression. Do you have any pictures of the sprinklers? I've never had any or been around them. Are they all over the yard? Are they on timers? Can the kids run in the yard (once the grass is established) and play in them when turned on? If you walk on the grass do you see/feel them? Very curious. I can't wait to see what comes next.
