This summer has been unseasonably busy for us and we’re totally ok with that! In addition to helping a family unpack their kitchen and get settled, we had several maintenance or refresh appointments, installed new Elfa systems and edited others. We also organized garages, watched custom cabinets and flooring be installed, and there’s many new projects in design phases that you will see soon.

Before I share some Elfa projects, isn’t this a beautiful kitchen? It was such a pleasure unpacking and organizing this beauty…

They are the loveliest couple and family. I truly value these families and the relationships we build with each one.

ELFA HALL CLOSET

A new design I installed was this hall closet. It holds medicines, overflow bathroom supplies, towels, travel items and more. In addition to installing an Elfa Decor design, I chose simple containment to categorize everything. It now looks and functions beautifully…

Elfa Decor really elevates the look of a design. As opposed to metal ventilated shelving, you can make your closet appear more custom or built-in. And similar to classic Elfa, you can edit it over time. Easily.

The clear containment I chose are some of my favorites. These can transition to other spaces over time, is stackable and also has dividers to really organize whatever it is you’re containing.

The stacking drawers are a bit more pricey, but worth it. I’ve used these quite a bit and are worth the investment. But the new Everything Organizer Collection from The Container Store is at a great price-point. These come in different depths and widths and we’ve used them in pantries and closets.

If your containment is clear you can choose to label it or not. In this closet, I added a simple white label.

Otherwise, all this space needed was good space planning.

NEW ELFA CLOSETS

A couple weeks ago I installed three Elfa closets in less than 2 hours. It was a record! Three kids now have totally functional closets, whereas prior to that each of them had basic, builder-grade set-ups.

ELFA EDITS

In another home with three children, and just in time for back-to-school, we edited three Elfa closets. I installed these back in 2021. Their youngest was much smaller then so she needed the biggest edit in terms of adjusting hanging rods, adding drawer dividers and removing shelves.

She has an interesting angle on the right side of her closet. Mom decided we needed more shoe storage so I installed this hanging shoe organizer on the wall…

This is intended to hang over a door, but instead works just as well this way. I used drywall anchors to ensure it can hold a lot of weight and stand up to kids hands.

Anyone gearing up for back-to-school by refreshing your spaces? My kids head back to high school and college this month…so I’m right there with you. Really looking forward to getting back to routines!
