Hey everyone! Welcome to Simply Organized on WordPress!
Wow, what a week!
And why was I so emotional saying goodbye to my old blog? It was like I sent a child away to college or something. I found myself moping around the house on Monday when the process began…searching around like a lost soul. I was talking to clients, doing home office work and other home chores…I was like “what am I doing?!”. I’ll admit it, I even cried a little. #pathetic Kidding aside, as silly as it sounds, I had to grieve a bit that day. My blogger blog is where it all began. I completely self-taught myself how to do any and everything over there. Over the years the style (and my style) changed and I tweaked it until I finally landed on the clean appearance you saw in recent months. There was always a new Youtube tutorial to teach me something different to try. Just a lot of memories made so I allowed myself that one day to feel sad.
But now – psh…it’s all good! Look at me!…I’m posting on WordPress!
You may notice at first glance that not a whole lot appears to have changed. It will change a lot later this month. Lesley went in after the transfer to make everything look as normal as possible and she removed all of the pink from the WordPress theme we chose. So, I hope the site looks somewhat familiar and you can navigate. When the new site is up and revealed later this month there will be a landing page…and the blog will be a separate page. It will look a whole mess different later.
I have so much to share and can’t wait to really get the hang of this new place so I can get back to regular posting. This week I worked with a few clients, which definitely snapped me out of that funk, and I have a few awesome organization products to share and of course I have to catch you up to speed on the branding / new site process.
Just wanted to pop in to say thank you for reading and following…and thank you for your patience during this move! Back soon with some organization fun!
Congrats on your move! I love how honest you were about being sad for your old blog. It means (to me) that it really matters t you and is not just a business. Looking forward to your future posts.
Thank you! Oh yes!!….this is so much more than a business. This blog has so many memories attached and has been my baby along side my actual baby. I started it after she was born and they’ve both grown together – crazy as it sounds. Just loved that old blog and am so grateful RFE could transfer everything. I was so worried about losing all of that content – for memory sake. 🙂
I just found your blog and I love all your ideas! I really have been trying to get more organized and this more of motivation for me!
Hi! Thank you so much and welcome! I love sharing my ideas here on the blog – it’s a passion for sure!
Congrats on the move! My husband and I both work with WordPress and I, a non-technical person, love how easy it is to use! I hope you find it is as well
Thank you so much!!! Feel free to throw some tips my way! 🙂
LOVE your new site, excited to see all of the changes coming too! You’ll love WP!
Thank you!! I love the new site…but it’s not even done yet. Wait until the end of the month when the big reveal happens – I’m so excited about this!! Love love it all!
I’m slowly getting the hang of WP which is why I haven’t blogged much, but look forward to learning the ins / outs!
Thank you for the comment!
Where are you? I keep double checking to make sure posts are updating in my Feedly since the site move. You must be super busy with clients, so we should look forward to some great before and afters….right!?!! Just letting you know I am eagerly awaiting my next simplyorganized fix. 🙂
All the best,
I’m here – just busy, as you said. I’ve had clients, I gave a speech (that took time to prepare) and I’ve been trying to get the hang of wordpress. However, look for posts to come soon – I’m working on one for this week.
And yes – I have a lot of before / after’s for you guys…so much work, which is amazing…but how do I keep up?!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Simply Organized fix is coming soon! 🙂 You cutie!
