Yesterday I shared a fun clutter-free gift idea for those beloved teachers in our lives. And today I have a great idea for a clutter-free neighbor gift!
Neighbors are so special. Yes, sometimes they’re not so special and not very comfortable to live near if they aren’t social or neighborly. Everyone deserves grace – in their defense, we don’t know what struggles they’re facing. But for the most part, in general we have neighbors around us that are helpful in a pinch or act as great neighborhood watchdogs. I have a few of those dogs…and love when they bark! And I have a few that are moms with children the same ages as mine. We lock arms and help each other with carpools, holiday block gatherings and life in general here in the hood. Gifting them with something useful and fun is a great way to show you appreciate having them as a neighbor…and if there’s been any issues over the last year, the gift could also serve as an olive branch.
This year I created a gift that’s not only clutter-free and useful, but also brings the recipients together as a family. With the long holiday school break nearing, moms and dads should appreciate this low-key activity! I assembled a movie night bin, of course…using one of my favorite clear bins from The Container Store.
A little candy for you…and little organization candy to go with it!
These gifts aren’t a big expense – about $15 total! To create my gift boxes I used a small, clear shoebox with a lid – cost is about $2…
I added some oversized candy and microwave popcorn purchased from the market…
And for each family, a set of 5 promo codes for Redbox (about $7 for all 5). Not knowing if my neighbors have Netflix or Apple TV, I went with what should work because we have a Redbox at our local grocery store. Each promo code is for a 1 night rental…
Finally, I topped it with a little card…
Once everything was inside the bin, I added the lid, ribbon and tag…
I also used my fun new chalkboard ribbon…
Movie night in a re-useable box!…
These are a huge hit with our neighbors! I don’t know…I’d love one! But you’d think I was an organizer or something.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful neighbor gift that’s clutter-free, useful and fun, I hope this idea will help! Happy gifting!
Adorable! Who doesn’t love a good movie night. Thanks for the great idea!
Thank you!!! They all loved the gift so much – I need a movie night myself! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! Can’t wait to meet you in person soon!
xo,
Sam
Love this idea! I am a fifth grade teacher and I always do back to school baskets or tubs full of things that my co-workers can use. A great idea for any time of the year! Thanks!
