Between the non-stop rain and my busy client calendar, I’ve been desperate for a pick-me-up at home. Don’t get me wrong, not complaining about either. But will admit I’ve been feeling stressed and have been putting a lot of pressure on myself. Add to that the gray, gloomy, wet weather and you’re not feeling so “light”. For me, making a small change to the spaces in the house where I spend a lot of time can make all the difference in my mood. I love seeing pretty things in the house and lighting my favorite candles. Since taking down Christmas decor, my front entry has been looking and feeling equally stressed. ha! On Friday I had an intense 3-hour session with one of my favorite clients. Since I wrapped the job at noon, I spent a couple hours alone shopping downtown. Felt great to have some mindless wandering time.
My entry isn’t just a space where guests arrive, it’s also a space that I see many times a day as it’s within eyesight from the kitchen…
Seeing this new view makes me so happy! Most everything here I already owned, but adding a few new things really makes it special…and pretty! One could also say I was too excited to decorate this space now that I have a table! Remember, the one that took 2 years for me to find.
What’s new? The glass display cloche, which contains a topiary I purchased over a year ago. This little faux succulent is adorable…
The faux peonies make me happy…one of my favorite flowers. Because they’re faux means I can enjoy them all season…
These two guys have been around for many years and never go out of style. I added them to the new tray I purchased from Target during the holidays…
Williams-Sonoma has some beautiful spring items available now and couldn’t help but grab this pretty glass embossed basket along with a bag of colorful jelly beans…
The kids of course love these sitting here!…
Maybe a little too much – ha!
Must take a moment to appreciate the evolution of this small entry over the last 2 years. Before move in…
And now – after paint, new light fixture, new door hardware, and (finally) the perfect entry table. Wall hangings are up for discussion…and will be changing soon, matter of fact….
But wow, what a change!
Have you started decorating for Spring yet? I know we’re a bit early in the year, but if you need a little spirit boost…I say, go for it!
Looks beautiful and so inviting!
looks great Samantha…Millie

Your entryway looks great! I love the peonies … they’re my favorite flower too. I will have to be on the lookout for some! My entryway is way overdue for a spiffing up. Change is hard for me but you’ve given me some inspiration!
I like the simplicity and freshness this space shows
Thank you so much!! Means the World to hear that!!
