There is nothing more humbling than being interviewed as an expert. Over the last couple years I’ve been interviewed on great podcasts, webinars or FB Live’s to share my experience as a professional organizer – my journey, how the Instagram community grew, and more. It really is such an honor. But when your friend, colleague and a woman you admire SO much invites you onto her brand new podcast? Saying “yes!!” is too easy!

My friend, Jen of Stagg Design, is a powerhouse. She’s a mother of 3 beautiful girls, a wife, designer, blogger, an award-winning journalist (!!!) and if that isn’t enough, she launched a brand new podcast last year. (Girl, where are you finding the time??) It’s called The Heart of The Home and you don’t want to miss it!

Jen and I became friends in 2015 while attending a blog conference in Atlanta. Here we are with one of her brand new baby girls…

We had escaped the conference hotel one evening for dinner with some of our best blog girls. So much fun!

These friendships, although first made through blogging / the online world, are very special and deep.

Then, Jen and I were both honored to be chosen as Better Homes & Gardens Stylemakers…for the last few years, in fact. But the first year I attended she was SO helpful in calming me down pre-interview. The BHG team asked me to be interviewed on camera for a video they would be using to promote the event. To know Sam is to know I absolutely LOVE to be in front of the camera.

Your girl loves to be BEHIND the camera – 100% of the time. It was an honor to be included in the video but was so anxious it was ruining my day / experience of being at the event. Seriously, my nerves were that shot.

Anyway, Jen took me under her wing to calm my nerves…I mentioned, she’s an award-winning journalist – being on camera is a natural for her. Even though she was being interviewed immediately after me, she spent a little time coaching me and making me feel better…even excited…about the opportunity.

She is a total sweetheart and grateful to have this special friend in my life. I’ve loved watching her journey as she started a line of her own home decor products and added another beautiful baby to their family.

Last year when she launched the podcast she reached out to ask if I was interested and I couldn’t wait to have a casual conversation with her….ALL ABOUT ORGANIZATION. I was getting a little tired of talking about IG and my journey into this career. I really want to share organizing ideas, solutions and methods and help people get a grip on their stuff. This is just the conversation I needed! And with the most perfect host! I mean, hello….look at this stunner!…
