Spring Cleaning with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?

Week in and week out, I’m dedicated to helping families declutter, create systems and get organized. No matter the season, that’s what we do. There are natural spurts during the year when we get that urge to declutter – around new years, before or after the kids go back to school, and in the Spring. One practice synonymous with spring is Spring Cleaning. And that’s the season we are in right now! Have you started doing any deep or Spring Cleaning?

Recently I had the incredible (I mean that!) pleasure of experiencing Spring Cleaning of my own with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. Full-blown truth = I was in absolute heaven! During and after this experience!

We are always considering new ways to remove the clutter from the homes we work in. Of course, always environmentally-friendly but more-so, we genuinely care where the items go. Not only me and my team, but the families who are letting go. When they finally decide to let go of something (which can take time to emotionally process), knowing where it’s going brings a level of comfort and ease with the decision. Needless to say, after experiencing 1-800-GOT-JUNK? myself, we are discussing a corporate account with them for our families. Very excited!

Today I’m here to share my experience with their amazing service and some details about 1-800-GOT-JUNK?.


My team of two guys, Donovan and Don, were awesome and fun to work with! They arrived on time, were friendly and upbeat. A lot of laughs all around!

They spent time explaining the process for both how they were going to load the truck and where the items would go from here.

They discussed pricing, which is simple, easy and upfront. All of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks are the same size, so what you pay depends on how much of the space your junk takes up in the truck. This could be anywhere from 1/8 of the truck to a full truckload. If you’re in doubt, they’ll even swing by to give you a free no-obligation estimate. And when I tell you these guys were genius at loading efficiently and maximizing space – I asked them if they were looking for a job. 🙂 (Kidding!)

From there it was simply time to point out the items that needed to go…and they seamlessly made it all disappear.

This should come as no surprise, but when I know I’m donating something or have an item to remove from the house, I prefer it’s out of sight right away. I stage our donations, trash, dump items or large recyclables in an open space near the garbage cans. Almost everything that needed to go was already sitting outside, but there were a couple small items in the house.

Regardless of where your items are located, all you need to do is point and your junk disappears!

They flawlessly loaded the truck in no time at all…still smiling and laughing along the way. And they worked so well together as a team. You can tell they like one another and there’s a positive company culture. They are very passionate about their job and working for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. Their pride really shines through in how they present the company and how gentle they are when removing items.

Here’s something I loved and can relate to very much – they swept up the area where my items were located after loading was completed! I was not expecting this level of service. What you don’t see pictured is me jumping for joy in the background. This is a service we offer in my own business. At the end of every space we organize, it’s either broom-swept, blown out (garages) or vacuumed. Not only was the pile gone, the area was completely swept!

Once the truck was loaded, they were locked up and ready to head out. Easy!

This process was easy and provided a HUGE sense of relief. Typically I would handle my own processing of donations and dump items, but with everything going on in my schedule, it was great to let the reins go and have 1-800-GOT-JUNK? do it all for me. I’m so happy! They gave me back a full afternoon to focus on other things.

Every time I step into the side yard I smile. No better way to get spring off to an amazing start…to spring clean AND have the junk removed!
