One of My Magic Tricks

Apr 3

Occasionally, I’ll organize a drawer with drawer organizers and miraculously end up with zero gaps and a perfect fit. It’s always a “parting of the clouds with angels singing” moment, for sure!

This drawer is an example of that perfect fit. You can see here from side to side these drawer boxes fit perfectly…

But the reality is most drawers I organize end up with a small gap on the side or in the back. Because of this gapping, the organizers may slide or shift around.

To keep the boxes from sliding around, I use this putty. This ensures a solid adhering to the drawer, but it will not damage any surfaces. You can easily remove it should you need to remove the boxes or update the drawer organization.

I recently shared a video showing how much putty I use and where to apply it in the drawer. You can see that video right here.

If you want to organize your drawers with these bamboo boxes, don’t be shy about applying the putty. This ensures a solid fit and these babies won’t move!

I’ve organized hundreds of kitchens. When I revisit a home where I’ve completed this project, I’ll take a peek to double check. They are always still adhered in place.

Even if your boxes contain heavier cooking utensils or silverware, this putty works like a charm!

If you currently have boxes shifting around or are considering some spring organization in your kitchen, give this little trick a try and then let me know how it worked for you!

Also wanted to mention, you can now view many more kitchen drawer organization project we have completed on our NEW portfolio page! I spent a couple weeks creating this page to share with prospective clients. Each space is broken down for you as well, including a page dedicated to kitchen drawers. Definitely take a peek for some Spring Cleaning inspo.

Hope your April is off to a great start! Back with more soon…

Sam
