every parent loves their child’s hand and foot prints. children grow much too quickly so anytime you can capture a precious moment and save it forever – you’ll do it. i especially love anything my kids do with their hand and foot prints. i love to capture that moment in time while they are small. especially those chubby toddler hands.
to capture my family just as we are today, i created this with the help of my kids…
isn’t that sweet?!
recently i found this great piece of family hand print art online and fell in love!…
isn’t that amazing?! i still have plans to create our own version of a family tree using our hands/arms, but that may happen this coming summer or fall. in the meantime, i was itching to put together a fun family art piece using our hands.
then i saw amy’s version over at home happy home…
love, love it! simple, easy and cute. and even better – it was something i could do with the kids last week while they were home on spring break.
we love it! i went for lighter colors because i wanted the piece to blend into our decor – and look spring-ish.
i also love that this project cost me = $0! i had all of the supplies on hand.
here is how i made our family hand print art. i chose a silver frame i had in my frame inventory…
and some pretty scrapbook papers…
then, i traced each family members hand…
here’s our middle guy…
and our daughter – the youngest…
then, i traced mommy and daddy’s hands. i cut out the hand prints, flipped them over to hide any pen/pencil markings, and glued them on the background page…
i wrote our family name and the month/year we did this project. i used pencil to keep it simple – i worried ink might take away from the handprints…
i framed it…
and that was it! super easy and very special!…
i encourage you to do the same with your family…and your family could include anyone – grandparents, aunts, uncles – maybe even pets!
Yours looks fantastic! Love those tiny hands! Thanks for sharing.

What a sweet project. I love everything about it- the sentiment, the cost, and how it captures such a fleeting moment in time. So glad you linked up to Point of View!
