Simple Solution: Instant Hidden Storage

Oct 13

In the master bathroom, both sinks don’t have hidden storage. Some of you may recall when I added the Pottery Barn wall shelf next to my sink, which created a ton of storage space for me. Here is the wall before…

And after…

The lights on either side of the mirror aren’t staying, but that’s a different post for a different day. Today we’re talking about adding just a *liiiiiiiitle* bit more storage…of the hidden variety.

I guess when a woman turns 40 that automatically doubles triples your beauty product arsenal. A-hem. You can see the shelves were getting bit crowded…

And the basket on the bottom of the shelf wasn’t working for me. That basket holds my hair tools, brushes, combs and large hair spray bottle…

I was digging through it every day and knew there was a better way to contain these items. I also wanted to free up more space on that bottom shelf for bath towels…

So, while the shelving works like a charm, I needed a little more storage space. I wanted to still keep things close at hand while I’m getting ready so I turned to the door you see here right next to my sink…

This idea isn’t anything new to you guys I’m sure, but I knew a hanging shoe organizer would be the perfect solution behind the bathroom door. The door is pretty much always open like this…

Therefore, anything hanging / hiding behind it won’t be seen. I grabbed a shoe organizer from Target…

But since I have an issue with things hanging over a door (my office is on the other side of this door), I instead used command adhesive hooks to hang it…

Once it was hanging I loaded up the compartments…

Now all of my hair tools, hair brushes & combs, hair accessories, hair products, and larger lotion bottles are hanging on the back of the door…and off the shelf. So much better!…

Don’t be afraid to use the back of a door for instant hidden storage. Because it works and costs you only a few bucks!

  1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates seeing hooks over the back of a door. It makes my eye start twitching!

  2. Waoouh, I hope one day I will be as organized as you

Pinning! I need to get me one of those shoe organizers. I have several doors in spaces that could use hidden storage!

I'd Love To Hear From You!
