I don’t know if you’re aware of this or not, but did you know there are around 10 gazillion food blogs in the great wide internet? While I love a good cookbook, sometimes I’m in a hurry and just want to google some recipes and meal plans to get the family through the coming week.
But wow, if you try to google that, you’re going to be one overwhelmed meal-planner. Let me cut through some of that craziness and give you a heads’ up on My Top 8 Family-Friendly Meal Plan Blogs. I’ve taken a big liking to these and am always finding great things that the entire family will eat.
If your family is like mine, you may have a picky eater in the midst. Or perhaps you want to expand your palette and try a few new things. Or, maybe you’re on a fitness journey like me and are looking for healthy, fun ways to fuel your body.
My Top 8 Family-Friendly Meal Plan Blogs
Rest assured… something in these following 8 food blogs will be right up your alley, no matter your meal planning goal!
1. Teach, Eat, Love
Oh my… now this is a big one for me. I tend to like just about everything and am willing to give many new foods a try. My kids on the other hand? Not so much. But this food blog is AWESOME, because the tagline is clearly about teaching kids to love what they eat. It doesn’t get more transparent than that!
Soon, you’re going to find some great recipes that you’ll be flipping through the meal planning rotation in no time. For example, this One Pot Greek Pasta is one of my new favorites!…
2. The Fresh 20
In the same vein as Teach, Eat, Love, The Fresh 20 blog is all about getting those kids of yours who refuse to eat ANYTHING to try something new. All of the different types of meal plans will get your little ones involved in the process, which makes their meal much more exciting! From vegetarian, gluten-free, paleo or lunch plans, there is something for every family! Even better… they have a meal planning service that will help you with your plans and grocery lists to make life even easier. And get the kids beyond that NO FUN picky phase!
3. Charlotte’s Lively Kitchen
I LOVE this blog! Charlotte works on creating recipes for her family that are yummy, fun and, dare I say, healthy! Is that all even possible at once? You bet! Did I mention the part about being fun and healthy? That’s what I love the most about this. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, it’s easy to find things you might be looking for. I really love how she breaks everything down not only by meal, but by main ingredient. Have something in your freezer that you know needs to come out soon? Head over here and find something that will work for next week’s meal plan in a heartbeat!
And… with her awesome photography skills (OMG… Cottage Pie!) how could you not want to whip up everything she makes immediately? It all looks so delicious!
4. Hijacked By Twins
The name of this blog alone makes me want to see what shenanigans this family is getting into! But than to find out it’s a food blog that has family-friendly recipes that will keep my family together around the dining room table? Sign me up! The brains behind Hijacked By Twins, Kirsty, sums up her blog perfectly herself: “I specialize in family friendly recipes that are not only super tasty, but can be easily made, regardless how manic life can be!” Yup… that’s me!
I personally love how she has a special “Meal Planning Monday” section. Perfect!
5. The Crazy Kitchen
When it comes to finding healthy options for your family meals, this blog hits the jackpot! You are going to be on recipe overload when you hit this website, so be prepared!
Check out this example, a Lamb & Feta No Bake Pita Pizza! For whatever reason, whenever I say pizza to my kids, they suddenly want to try it, so this recipe is definitely going on my watch list for a future meal plan!
6. Mel’s Kitchen Cafe
In my friend and family circle, this blog constantly comes up when we’re sharing recipes! Anyone who has 5 kids and can come up with a blog like this is my hero. Mel comes up with healthy options, delicious comfort food and classic favorites that are ideal for any family! In addition, I love her tips and tricks that she will share when going over different things in a recipe to make it easier for me… who totally would have flubbed it without her guided internet hand leading the way.
Guys, she even has a section for her BEST RECIPES in many different categories. That’s right, this is where you go to find the best of the best that even she can’t get enough of! And as if that wasn’t good enough, she shares her most-used favorite things that she cooks with in the kitchen! If you’re looking for a new small appliance or some amazing cookware, this is the place to check out her opinion. And everything in her Favorites section are items that SHE OWNS HERSELF! I’m in love.
7. The Fit Foodie
Ready to eat delicious food over and over, while nourishing your body and giving it the nutrients it needs? The Fit Foodie is for you! If you’re looking for healthy versions of treats you know and love, than you have to take a peek at the Two-Minute Salted Caramel Smoothie Bowl. Yum and it’s a great post-workout treat, too!
If you’re looking to stay on-point in a fitness regime, The Fit Foodie has you covered. Fit Mixes are even available for you to purchase, to easily stay the course if you’re training for a specific event. You’ll also find simple, yet effective workout and health tips, and loads of inspiration. As The Fit Foodie says, your body will thank you for it!
8. Running on Real Food
Looking for a little bit more vegan recipe inspiration in your life? If you’re on a health kick in your fitness program or just tend to lean more vegan, this is the blog for you. Not only are there great vegan recipes that can help in your fitness quest, but also great fitness tips that will give you balance in your life. That may be my favorite part of this blog!
I love finding new workouts that I can add to my days, but the fact that I can also get great recipes to keep me on track, along with all of the nutrition information I’ll need? Amazing! Grab some Vegan Food Prep Tips that you can use for the week, along with a great 30 Minute Conditioning Workout guaranteed to make you sweat, it doesn’t get much better than this!
Just like that, you have a great base down for places to head to when your head is spinning from trying to get your meal plan in order! I love that Numbers 7 and 8 are a little bit more towards the fitness/nutritional variety, particularly since I’m on my own fitness journey, but if you’re a busy parent who is simply trying to keep your head above water while making things you know your kids will eat (I’ve been the Mom who has had to make separate meals for my kids before… it stinks!), than the remaining blogs will help to get you on your way!
And… don’t forget. If you’re worried about how you’re going to remember all of these recipes once you find them, Evernote is your friend! Grab the great tutorial now on how to make sure you don’t forget a thing you see!
Thanks so much for including my blog! Especially with all these other awesome ones. 🙂
You’re welcome!!
xx,
Sam
Wow! Fabulous list. Never before have I been inspired by someone else’s list of blogs. Most of the blogs mentions here are really magical and no more dread thinking about what I want for the week and shopping. The meals from your mention posts look very inviting. Keep up the great site and keep inspiring. 😉
Cheers
Angela
Like the crazy kitchen example (Lamb & Feta). Also, teach, eat & love is the great point.
I didn’t find any of these sites actually had meal planning laid out, did I misunderstand the purpose of the post?
Hijacked by twins link no longer works.
Hi and thank you!
That blog was written back in the summer of 2017. Since then it looks like she moved her blog. I updated the links – thank you!
